PIVOT

Flora Pondtemporary
Summer 2026

Two pairs of hammocks are connected at their center, forming a system that only works when they are used together. The necessary balance is achieved only when two people lie in the hammocks simultaneously, one person in each.

The installation makes experiences of dependency, cooperation, and mutual responsibility physically tangible. The banner-like surfaces of the hammocks feature pairs of words that evoke different poles, tensions, and oppositions.

Rather than presenting balance as a static state, the work explores it as an ongoing process of negotiation. Here, balance emerges through the interplay of different forces.
