THE JEST ROOM
site-specific installation for The Student Hotel Vienna as part of Vienna Design Week 2020
At a neuralgic point on the buildings corner that also functions as a hangout spot for the neighbours, a temporary, atmospheric space made out of fabric and typography is created - the Jest Room. A space which knows that it is actually none, an in-between space that invites you to linger and wants to be viewed, a space that demands the viewers imagination. The installation, pursues the ever pressing question of how and for whom public space - especially in immediate vicinity of commercially occupied space - can be used.
The installation was accompanied by an indoor exhibition.
